ABOUT US
Star Club aims to be a rowing club which offers an opportunity to all ages to take up the sport of rowing. It is a family Club but is well able to take members from beginner to National or International competition.
Star Club is an amateur, voluntary rowing club and relies to a very large extent on grant aid for provision of updates and improvements to its facilities. Virtually all its subscription and donation income from members is applied to maintaining its premises. Other than irregular grant aid it receives no external support in recognition of its work in the community, nor for the provision of the facilities it makes available to the wider public. There is no payment from the Education Authority for the outreach, introduction to rowing, work which it does for local State Schools through a Community Rowing Coach, jointly funded by the Club and the Poynter Trust.
Offers of financial assistance or sponsorship in any form are therefore always gratefully accepted and acknowledged.
Star Club is proud to be supported by The Bedford Charity (The Harpur Trust), which is providing funding from October 2010 to September 2013 to support our Community Coaching Programme.
